CMakeLists.txt contains now the version numbers for DMD and (next) LDC release.
If a .git folder is found then the LDC version is replaced by the first 6 chars
of the Git revision.
Possible improvements:
- If the build is not done at the master branch then it could be useful to check for a tag and use the tag instead of the revision. (for release builds)
- Maybe it is useful to include the branch name.
This fixes issue #366.
I removed the copyright notice. I don't think we are obliged to
display it for DMD; on the other hand, if we do, we might also
have to display the libconfig one (LGPL). Thus, this seemed like
the better choice.
The indentation is to align with the registered target output,
which we cannot control.
Some files in our copy of the DMD 2 source had CRLF line endings.
This was not only inconsistent, but also made merging DMD patches
(where LF is used throughout) unnecessarily painful.
The Windows linker LINK insists on the .obj extension. The following changes are made:
- CMake uses the same extension as the C compiler
- global.obj_ext_alt (aka .obj) is recognized as objectfile extension
- global.obj_ext_alt is used on Windows
- Moved main() into its own file gen/main.cpp
- Fixed basic cross compilation
- removed the option for setting OS
- added support for llc's mattr, mcpu and mtriple switches
- added basic ABI abstraction for return value rewrites, it's not perfect and will probably be completely rewritten once I get to handling parameter rewrites as well.
- x86-64 extern(C) abi for cfloat returns now match (llvm-)gcc.
Changed -g switch to emit DW_LANG_D debug info, make demangling work with a patched GDB, still more work to do for full support of D's Dwarf extensions.
Added getNullValue helper method.
Fixed function literals in static initializers.
Changed alignment of delegates from 2*PTRSIZE to just PTRSIZE.
Changed errors to go to stderr instead of stdout.
Fairly major rewriting of struct/union/class handling, STILL A BIT BUGGY !!!
